Operating /P from the campsite

Well, I think I have found my favourite method of operating my amateur radio station! It would appear that (to me anyway) operating /P is the way to go.

Over the past couple of months, I have had the privilege of operating from various camp-sites around the Ottawa area, the most recent being from Charleston Lake Provincial Park.
Using a Yaesu FT-857D, an MFJ-902 tuner, a G5RV JR dipole, and an Orbial Marine deep-cycle battery, I have managed to work other radio amateurs as far away as 9000km (LU6AM in Argentina).

I am looking forward to making a few small modifications to my current setup to facilitate easier setup and tear-down, but for now, I am perfectly happy plugging away with my current station.

Good evening James, yes going P is very cool I have used my Elecraft KX1 in many parks and also in the winter just from the car with a mobile whip on the trunk.
